| 				  | 				 | 				Adolf Eichmann (1906-1962) was head of the 'Judenreferat', (Department				for Jewish Affairs) IV B 4 of the Reichssicherheits-hauptamt (Reich				Security Main Office) during the Second World War. He was a leading				figure in the mass murder of European Jews. The deportation of				Jews to the death camps was centrally organized from his office				in the Kurfürstenstraße 115/116. Eichmann fled to Argentina after				the war. In 1961 his trial in Jerusalem attracted worldwide attention.				He was sentenced to death and subsequently executed. |
