The year 2013 is the 80th anniversary of Hitler's appointment as German
Chancellor. I believe it's time to study this person of historic importance
from a light(er) side!
My photo collages in DIN A1 backlight boxes (33 x 23 inches) are foremost
a homage to John Heartfield (1891-1968), a German Jewish artist who between
1918 and 1938 created extremely impressive and critical photo montages on
Hitler and the National Socialists.
In those dark days, the situation for him as a Jew who
had successfully escaped to Britain was very dire. Nowadays, in 2013, I as a
Jewish artist am able to deal with Mister H. in a relaxed and humoristic
manner.
